1. The service

jeden.day is a free, personal habit tracker operated by Michael von Bothmer, Aachen, Germany ("the operator"). It lets you record habits and daily entries and view your own progress. It is provided as a personal project, free of charge and without any guaranteed service level.

2. Your account

Accounts are identified by email address and signed in passwordlessly: an emailed link or code, a passkey, or — where the operator offers it — a Google, GitHub, Apple or Microsoft account. You are responsible for access to your email inbox, your devices and any sign-in provider account you connect. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.

3. Acceptable use

Use the service only for its intended purpose — tracking your own habits. In particular, do not attempt to access other users' data, disrupt or overload the service, create accounts in bulk or by automated means, or use the sign-in mail flow to send unsolicited email to third parties.

You may connect an application — an AI assistant, for example — to your account. A connection you approve acts with your authority and has full access to that account's habits, so you are responsible for what you connect and for what it does with your data; revoke a connection you no longer want under "Connections" in the account menu. The operator neither endorses nor is responsible for any such application, and may refuse or cut off a connection that abuses the service.

The feedback board is the one place where what you write can become visible to other users. Post only about this service, keep it civil, and do not post unlawful content, personal data about other people, or anything you are not entitled to share. The operator decides which posts are published, may edit a post or comment for clarity, may set or change its status — including declining it — and may remove anything that breaks these rules. Nothing posted there creates any obligation to build, fix or answer it, and a vote count is not a promise. You can delete your own posts and comments at any time.

4. Your data

Your habit data and anything you post on the feedback board remain yours. You can export it at any time from the account menu and delete it — or the entire account — yourself. How personal data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Availability and warranty

The service is provided "as is". The operator does not warrant uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, or the preservation of data, and may change or discontinue the service; if it is discontinued, registered users will be notified by email with reasonable notice to export their data.

6. Liability

The operator is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and under mandatory statutory liability (including injury to life, body, or health). For slight negligence, liability exists only for the breach of essential contractual obligations and is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of free service. Any further liability is excluded.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time in the app. The operator may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and may do so without notice where the violation endangers the service or other users.

8. Changes to these terms

Material changes to these terms will be announced to registered users by email before they take effect. If you continue to use the service afterwards, the changed terms apply.

9. Final provisions

German law applies, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence. Should individual provisions of these terms be invalid, the remainder stays in effect.
