A habit tracker your AI assistant can use
If you already talk to an AI assistant during the day, the record can be kept from there: "log today's run", "how is my reading going this month?", "make a habit for stretching every other day". jeden.day exposes an MCP server, the open protocol assistants use to connect to other apps, with the same permissions and the same scoring as the grid.
Connecting an agent
Add https://jeden.day/mcp as a connector (some assistants call it an MCP server or a custom integration) in the assistant's settings. It opens a jeden.day page that names the app asking, the site it will return to, and the account it will get — you approve, and the connection is made. If you are signed out, you sign in on that same page first.
Approving asks for a recent sign-in, the same proof as adding a passkey, because a connection is standing access to the account for about thirty days at a time.
What a connected agent can do
Everything the grid can, for that one account: list habits, create and edit them — any schedule, direction or target the dialog offers — reorder them, record or clear a day's entry, and read the grid with every habit's streak and period progress. It cannot touch anything else: not your email, your passkeys, your sessions or other connections. Scoring is done by the server, so the streak an agent reports is the one the grid shows.
You stay in control
The account menu's Connections entry lists every agent with when you approved it and when it was last used, and removes one immediately — the agent loses access on its next request. Signing out other sessions, and deleting the account, revoke every connection too. Your data export lists the connections held at that moment, beside the passkeys, since both are standing access.
Why it is built in
Because the hard part of a habit tracker is the recording, and the lowest-friction place to record something is wherever you already are. An agent that can write to your grid turns "I went for a run" said in passing into a mark in the right cell. The grid stays the place you read it; see the guide for the details.
Questions
Which assistants work?
Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth: Claude (as a custom connector on the web and in the desktop app, or via claude mcp add in Claude Code), and other MCP-capable tools. No API key is needed; the connection is approved in the browser.
Does the agent see my email or other accounts?
No. It receives a token bound to your account's habits only. The consent screen shows the site the app will return to, so a look-alike registration cannot dress itself up as the real one.
Can I use it as a guest?
No. Guest data lives in your browser, where no server-side agent can reach it. An account is needed for a connection.
Is anything I say to the assistant sent to jeden.day?
Only the calls the assistant decides to make — a habit to create, a day to mark, a grid to read — and those are stored exactly as if you had tapped them yourself.
