jeden.day – habit tracker

A Done habit tracker alternative that runs anywhere

Done — listed today as Do Habits: Get It Done — is a simple, friendly iPhone habit tracker: build or quit a habit, several times a day if you like, with daily, weekly, monthly or yearly goals, skip days and a vacation mode, a journal, widgets and a Watch app. Three habits are free; the rest is a subscription or lifetime purchase, and there is no Android or web version. Here is what jeden.day does with the same needs.

What Done is

Done, by Kodeon, Inc., runs on iPhone and Apple Watch. A habit is built or quit, tracked up to several times a day, with a goal per day, week, month or year; skip days and vacation mode protect a streak, each habit has a daily journal, and there are multiple reminders, widgets, Siri Shortcuts, Apple Health input, CSV export with time stamps, and iCloud or Dropbox backup. Up to three habits are free.

Why people look for an alternative

Platform and the cap. There is no Android, Mac or web version, so the record stays on the phone, and three habits is a trial. Its App Store privacy label also lists purchases, identifiers and product interaction linked to you.

Some also want a quota to mean any days — "3 times per week" — and a number against a target rather than a count of check-ins.

How jeden.day is different

It runs in the browser on any device, works without an account, and is currently free with no tier. Build and quit habits are both first-class: a quit habit records only the slips against an allowance, and a quiet day is kept on its own. Schedules include quotas per week or month, chosen weekdays, every N days, days of the month, and totals summed over a period; measurable habits take a number against a target or a limit. Skipped days are neutral, and today never breaks a streak while it is open.

Sync is an emailed link or code, then a passkey; the whole account downloads as one file; nothing is collected beyond what you record.

What Done has that jeden.day does not

Reminders, widgets and a Watch app, a journal on each habit, several check-ins a day, vacation mode, Apple Health input, Siri Shortcuts, and CSV with time stamps. If you want a note beside each day or a habit that is "done" five times before lunch, Done is built for that.

Questions

Can I log a habit several times a day?

As an amount, yes: "8 glasses" is a measurable habit you add to through the day. There are no separate timestamped check-ins.

Is there a journal?

No. A cell holds a mark or an amount, not text.

Can I import my Done CSV?

No. Habits are re-created by hand; jeden.day imports only its own export format.
