jeden.day – habit tracker

An everyday.app alternative with more than daily

everyday.app and jeden.day share a shape: a board with one row per habit and one square per day, chains you do not want to break, on the web with mobile apps beside it. everyday is built for doing something every day, caps the free plan at three habits and puts the rest behind Premium. This page sets out where jeden.day takes the same board.

What everyday is

everyday, by Everyday Growth S.L., is a habit tracker for the web, iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, with an Android app and browser extensions that make the board your new tab page. Habits are daily or on chosen weekdays, a day can be skipped without breaking the chain, each habit has a colour and an emoji, and there are reminders, notes and statistics. The free plan holds three habits; Premium removes the cap and unlocks the rest, by subscription or a lifetime purchase.

Why people look for an alternative

The cap and the model. Three habits is a trial rather than a plan, and "every day" is in the name: a habit that happens three times a week, or an amount to reach, or a thing to do less of, does not fit a board that asks for a mark every day.

An account is also needed from the start, since the board syncs through it.

How jeden.day is different

The board is the same idea, read with today on the left and a bracket under each period. Habits can be daily, a number of times per week or month, on chosen weekdays, every N days, on days of the month, or a total summed over a period; a streak follows whichever of those you chose. Limits carry an allowance and a daily limit can allow days over it. Measurable habits take a number against a target.

It is currently free with no cap below the account's 20 habits, works without an account in the browser, and syncs with a passwordless sign-in when you want it. No ads, no third-party analytics, one-file export.

What everyday has that jeden.day does not

Reminders, native apps with a Watch app, browser extensions that put the board on every new tab, notes on a day, colours and emoji per habit. If you want the board in your face every time you open a tab, everyday does that and jeden.day is a page you go to.

Questions

How many habits can I track for free?

Up to 20 per account, archived ones included, with every feature. There is no paid tier today.

Is there a new-tab extension?

No. jeden.day is a page you open, or install to the home screen.

Can I colour my habits?

No. The grid is monochrome by design, using fill, brackets and dots rather than colour so it reads the same in light and dark mode.
