A monthly habit tracker
Some habits are monthly by nature: the bills on the first, a backup on the 15th, a long walk a couple of times a month, a total of pages that only makes sense across four weeks. jeden.day lets a habit take the month as its period, so a slow start is not a miss and a strong finish counts in full.
A number of times per month
"Twice a month" means any two days in the calendar month. The grid draws the month as a bracket under the row and fills it as you record, and the count under the habit's name (1/2·mo) says where you stand. The month you create the habit in is pro-rated from that day, so a habit started on the 25th is not asked for two days in the six that remain.
The month stays open until it ends. An empty first week is not a failure; only a month that finishes short of its count breaks the streak, which is then written in months.
On fixed days of the month
When the date itself matters, choose selected days of the month: the 1st, the 1st and the 15th, or any set of dates. Those days are due and carry a waiting dot in the grid; the other days are not asked for, and recording on one of them still counts. A month without a chosen day moves it to its last day, so the 31st falls on April 30, and on February 28 or 29.
The streak on such a habit counts the due days you completed, one by one. Missing the 15th ends it; nothing that happens on the 14th or 16th affects it.
A monthly total for an amount
An amount habit can take its target per month instead of per day: "800 pages a month" adds up everything you record in the month, however it is spread. The day panel says how much is still left of the month, and the figure moves as you enter amounts. The same shape keeps something under a monthly limit, such as at most four takeaway meals a month, where you record only the occurrences.
A monthly total suits work that comes in uneven sittings. If you want a daily minimum as well, the amounts page explains the choice between a target per day and a total per period.
See the months side by side
The header switches between the day grid and a year view: one card per habit, a square per day, month labels along the top. For a habit you are building up the card also totals what the weeks on screen hold, the days done or the amounts added up. It is for looking back rather than recording, and it is where a monthly pattern shows.

Questions
Is a monthly quota the same as a monthly total?
No. A quota counts days: twice a month is two days on which you did the habit. A total adds amounts: 800 pages a month is reached however many days it took. A checkmark habit can only have a quota; an amount habit can have either.
Can a habit be yearly instead of monthly?
Yes. A number of times per year follows the calendar year the same way a monthly quota follows the month, and an amount habit can take a yearly total in the same way.
What about weekly or every-few-days habits?
The same schedules work per week, per block of days, and on selected weekdays. The non-daily habits page covers those shapes.
