jeden.day – habit tracker

A TickTick alternative for the habits alone

TickTick is a to-do app first, and a good one; its Habit tab is a capable tracker on the side, with frequencies like three times a week, goals of an amount with a unit, auto and manual check-ins and statistics. If you keep TickTick open only for that tab — or want the habit record apart from your task list, and without an account — here is what jeden.day does.

What TickTick’s habit tracker is

A section of TickTick, the cross-platform task manager. A habit takes a frequency — daily, on certain days, or a number of times a week — and a goal: "achieve it all" or "reach a certain amount" with a unit, logged automatically, manually or all at once. It has reminders, a habit log, streaks and statistics, and rides TickTick's apps for web, iOS, Android, Mac and Windows, its account, and its free and Premium plans.

Why people look for an alternative

Separation. A habit record and a task list want different things: the list is churn, the record is history, and opening a to-do app to mark a habit puts today's tasks between you and it. Some people also leave TickTick as a whole and lose the habit tab with it.

An account is required, and the habit features sit within TickTick's plan structure.

How jeden.day is different

It is only a habit tracker, so the grid is the whole screen: one row per habit, one column per day, today on the left. Schedules cover TickTick's range — daily, chosen days, a number of times per week — and add monthly quotas, every N days, days of the month and totals summed over a period. Amounts with a unit are there too, and limits with an allowance, including days over a daily limit.

It works without an account, is currently free with no plan, and syncs with a passwordless sign-in. No ads, no third-party analytics, one-file export.

What TickTick has that jeden.day does not

The to-do app around it: tasks, lists, calendar, Pomodoro, reminders, native apps on every platform with widgets, and automatic check-ins for some amounts. If you want habits and tasks in one place with one reminder system, TickTick does that and jeden.day is one thing only.

Questions

Does jeden.day have tasks?

No. Habits only, by design.

Can it auto-log amounts like TickTick’s Auto mode?

Not from a device. An AI agent you connect over MCP can enter amounts for you; there is no health or app integration.

Can I import my TickTick habits?

No. Habits are re-created by hand; jeden.day imports only its own export format.
