jeden.day – habit tracker

A Habitify alternative without the subscription

Habitify is a polished, multi-platform habit tracker: iOS, Android, Mac, Watch and web, with measurable habits, mood notes, a timer, Health and Fit sync, Zapier and an API. Most of that sits behind Plus or Pro subscriptions, and it needs an account from the first minute. If you want the schedules without the platform, or want to try before you sign up, here is what jeden.day does differently.

What Habitify is

Habitify, by Unstatic, runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Android and the web with an account that syncs them. Habits take daily, weekly or custom schedules, can carry a unit and a goal, can be marked done, skipped or missed, and split into build and break habits. It connects to Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit and Strava, to Zapier and IFTTT, and offers an API. The free tier is limited; Plus and Pro subscriptions unlock the rest.

Why people look for an alternative

Usually the subscription and the sign-up. Habitify's free tier caps what you can actively track, so a habit list of any size is a recurring cost, and the account comes before you have seen whether the app suits you.

Some also want less: fewer screens, no mood prompts, no timer, a grid you can read in a glance rather than a dashboard of charts.

How jeden.day is different

It is currently free, with no paid tier, and it opens on the grid with no account at all; sign in only when you want a second device. The grid is one row per habit and one column per day, so the state of everything is one screen. Schedules include quotas per week or month, chosen weekdays, every N days, days of the month, and totals summed over a period; limits carry an allowance, including days over a daily limit. Measurable habits take a number against a target with an optional unit.

Nothing is collected beyond what you record, there are no ads or third-party analytics, and the whole account downloads as one file. Sign-in is an emailed link or code and then a passkey, so there is no password.

What Habitify has that jeden.day does not

Native apps on every platform with widgets and a Watch app; reminders; automatic logging from Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit and Strava; Zapier, IFTTT and a public API; mood and notes on each check-in; a built-in timer; and a much richer statistics view. If automatic logging from your watch is the point, Habitify does that and jeden.day does not.

Questions

Is jeden.day’s free tier limited like Habitify’s?

There is no tier. An account holds up to 20 habits, archived ones included, and every feature is available to every account. Paid features may be added in the future.

Can I log a habit from my Apple Watch or Fitbit?

No. Amounts are typed in, or an AI agent you connect can enter them. There is no health or fitness integration.

Can I move my Habitify data over?

Not with an importer. Habits are re-created by hand; jeden.day imports only its own export format.
